JANUARY-- 31st December/1st January sees the celebrations of St Sylvestre (the St Sylvestre falls on  the 31st December).  Eat, drink and dance your way into the new year. 

FEBRUARY--Celebrate Mardi Gras and Carnaval with decorated floats and fancy dress in the surrounding villages

MARCH-- Season of Hunter's Banquets.  An opportunity to eat various game (boar/venison) prepared to traditional local recipes.  Well washed down with local full bodied red wines.  Opening of the trout fishing season. 

APRIL -The start of the flower and plant markets.  Various friendly competitions in Brassac to launch the village fete.  Easter Festivities

MAY--First Sunday in May is the Brassac village Fete.  3 days and nights of disco, musette, gastronomie, and good humour, and «Fiesta Landaise ».  The course fishing season opens.  For Whitsun Moissac celebrate their local Fete. 

JUNE-- Village fetes progress through the region.  Antique fairs and flea markets replace the flower markets as the season advances.  June is also the month of a national music festival with events of all types and styles across the land, large and small but all performed with the same zeal.

JULY--  The month of the National Fete  Fireworks and dances across the country to celebrate the 14th July.

AUGUST--Village fetes and fairs continue.  Honey, antiques, flea markets, photographic, medieval, etc  Fete in Castelsagrat with a meal served under the arches around the village square.  Fete also in Montjoi with flea market.  « Son et Lumière » in Valence d'Agen.

SEPTEMBER--Agricultural shows start creeping into the calendar.  Livestock, ploughing, pruning, grape trimming and produce competitions.  Bi-annual fruit show held in Moissac to celebrate in particular the Chasselas grape.

OCTOBER-- The county show.  At the beginning of October the Agricultural Fair is held in Montauban lasting 4 days.  Towards the end of the month Chrysanthemum fairs   in preparation for All Saints Day.  Halloween is now widely celebrated in particular by the younger generations. (and shop keepers!!). 

NOVEMBER--1st and 2nd November traditionally are the days when the cemetries are bedecked with chrysanthemums.  Flea markets persist, but are slowly taken over by Board Game and Bingo evenings to boost village fund raising.  Accompanied by home made pancakes and « merveilles » (deep fried doughnut type cakes)

DECEMBER-- The year draws to a close, the lights come on for Christmas.  The « marché au gras », the truffle markets and the more recent Christmas markets fill the villages streets and market places with hustle and bustle  Visit the traditional Christmas circus in Valence d'Agen with many top acts.

Every week-end, whatever the season there is something to do, see or attend.  Space prevents me from listing everything.  If you require information about a particular activity or date please contact me, I'm sure I'll find something and our region won't let you (or us) down!
